Free Standing Hoarding Essex, Kent, Surrey & London

No dig hoarding solutions are becoming more and more popular as this eliminates the risk of striking any underground services by 100% when excavating the ground and also the cost or reinstating any damaged surfaces after completion of your project. It is also re-useable so we can offer a buy back promise or come to an agreement upon removal. All systems are counterbalance to site specific requirements. All our systems have single and double gates to match our hoardings and can come in any colour. Our movable hoardings can be positioned and repositioned to meet site needs, they are more adaptable and reduce time to erect saving overall time and project costs. All our items are 100% recyclable it boosts project sustainability and credits your companies reputation.

A free stand hoarding can be achieved in many different ways-

Concrete kentledge system also known as Kelly block hoarding

The concrete block system is the most popular way as the blocks are reusable and are easy to manage and store. This will involve a concrete block being placed at appropriate centre's, depending on wind loading and calculations with an appropriate timber bolted to the side using concrete bolts with a supporting brace/raker behind. This method will require adequate access for a lorry with a HIAB to position the blocks in situ. Depending on the access around the site the blocks can be rotated from either 1200mm long and 600mm wide to 600mm long and 1200mm wide, depending on the wind loading.

Counterweighted Ballast box systems

The ballast box system is ideal for areas where access is restricted as the boxes can be moved by hand. A typical box is 600mm wide, 1200mm long and 600mm high made of plywood with timber framework inside for support. The box is then filled with 25kg bags of ballast to reach the weight stated by our temporary works design. Once the box has been filled we put a lid on it to stop anyone helping themselves to the bags of ballast inside.

Hoarding on scaffold

This system will be in areas where there is restricted access due to the erection of scaffolding. A timber hoarding can be either strapped or clamped to the scaffold standards. In some cases there is a need fir a soffit to be fitted to the underside of the scaffolding there is a public footpath underneath to give further protection from falling objects from the scaffold. If this is the case then more than likely there will be a need for a 1.2m high hoarding on the other side of the footpath to hide the scaffold supporting the first scaffold lift. This can be boxed around with a sloped lid to stop members of the public from climbing the scaffold and gaining access to the site, and also to protect the public from snagging themselves on any protruding scaffold clips.

Bolt down hoarding

Although this method will involve breaking the ground, it is very effective when a boundary line is through a "hard dig" area. The bolt down feet are most effective when going through concrete, but can also be used on tarmac when the thickness is more that 200mm.

Moveable hoardings

We can create special moveable hoardings that adapt to any site specific needs. Its used by a simple kentledge method that allows a forklift to move and adapt the hoarding as they wish, although this method comes at a high cost the options are endless.
